# PlantReporter

PlantReporter is a program for generating parts lists and specification sheets of all types. The data for the lists are taken from the databases/drawings that have been created with AutoCAD Plant 3D.

PlantReporter offers users the possibility of exporting the lists not only to a printer or as PDF, but also into a large number of other data formats (e.g. XLSX, TIF, JPG).

In PlantReporter and the following chapters we use several expressions which we explain here.

**Queries**

A query determines which classes/values will be used to fill the report.

**Layout**

The layout defines how the the data from the query is laid out.

**Report Configurations**

Report configuration is the Query + the Layout + some setting (e.g. output format).

**Reports**

Reports are the printed/exported result of the Report Configuration used for a specific project.
