# Select different row from source

This chapter describes how you can select a different row (dataset) from your data source.

The images below are used from the [Create an Update Link](/plant-tools/plantlink/how-to-use/link-configurations/create-an-update-link.md) example.

The project used in this chapter can be downloaded with the following Link:

To assign another row's data you simply select the other row and click on **Import values**.

If you open the **PlantLink - External Database Viewer** again and uncheck the box **Show only suitable datasets when using 'Assign Data'** you will be shown all rows from the table.

If you select for example a heat exchanger which has a different value for PIDType, then the value for Type will also be mapped.
