# On Drawing Save

This chapter describes the various options of the **On Drawing Save** tab of the Settings dialog.

The "On Drawing Save" tab defines which other PlantExpressTools functions should be updates when a drawing is saved. Details can be found under the various functions.

The updates will be executed before the drawing is then actually saved.

Be aware that updating when saving slows down the saving, but ensures that the data in your drawing is up to date.
