# Lists

This chapter describes the various options of the **Lists** tab of the Settings dialog.

The "Lists" tab allows you to set the path where the List configuration files will be stored. Details can be found under [Create Lists](/plant-tools/plantexpresstools/collaboration-workflows/create-lists.md)

### <mark style="color:blue;">List Configuration Location</mark>

The “List Configuration Location” section determines in which directory the configuration files for the list functions should be located.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">General</mark>

Select this setting if you want to store the configuration files in the local PlantTools folder. That would also mean, that all projects use the same configurations.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Project</mark>

This is the typical selection. The configurations are stored under the project and are therefore independent of any other projects.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Custom Path</mark>

This setting can be used if the configurations should be in a place of your choosing and all projects use the same configurations.

When changing the location directory, please note that you must subsequently copy the files from the previous location to the new location. They won't be copied automatically.
