# DWG Export

This chapter describes the various options of the **DWG Export** tab of the Settings dialog.

The "DWG Export" tab allows you to define the options for the DWG Export function. Details can be found under [DWG Export](/plant-tools/plantexpresstools/collaboration-workflows/dwg-export.md).

### <mark style="color:blue;">Options for P\&ID and 3D</mark>

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Bind</mark>

This option binds XREFs to the final exported drawing.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Detach</mark>

This option detaches XREFs in the final exported drawing. The drawings won't be xrefed again.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Keep</mark>

This option keeps XREFed drawing xrefed. During the export process the drawings will be detached, but will be attached for the final result to maintain the original xref structure.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Explode Bound/Imported XRefs</mark>

This option explodes the xrefs which have been inserted by either the Bind or Insert option.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Purge</mark>

This option makes sure, that the drawings will be purged before they will be saved.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Folder Structure</mark>

You can either have all exported drawings stored in one folder or you keep the original folder structure from your project.

### <mark style="color:blue;">Options for 3D only</mark>

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Explode Blocks</mark>

This option makes sure that all object will be exploded as often as necessary to get rid of all blocks in the drawing. This typically leaves Solids deriving from the blocks.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Keep only Solids</mark>

This option deletes all AutoCAD objects which aren't Solids.

### <mark style="color:blue;">Explode Options</mark>

Move objects on block layer "0" to block insert layer

This options moves objects which have been exploded back to the layer of the block's layer before the block was exploded.
