# Bolt Calculation

This chapter lists the workflows and how the files of the Bolt Calculation function are handled in a Collaboration (BIM360 / **A**utodesk **C**onstruction **C**loud) environment.

<summary>Configurations Files of the Calculation function</summary>

These are the files used by the Calculation function 1.**BoltCalculation.xml** The \[PROJCTFOLDER]\ACPlantTools\PlantExpressTools\BoltCalculation\BoltCalculation.xml contains the setup of the Bolt Calculation. 2.**BoltCatalog.db** The \[PROJCTFOLDER]\ACPlantTools\PlantExpressTools\BoltCalculation\BoltCatalog.db file is handled only, if the Bolt Catalog is added to the project. Otherwise the Bolt Catalog will not be shown in Project Manager. The file name can be different from BoltCatalog.db. 3.**Plant 3D Catalog template \*.pcat** The \[PROJCTFOLDER]\ACPlantTools\PlantExpressTools\BoltCalculation\DIN Pipes and Fittings Catalog.pcat.pcat is handled only, if the Plant 3D reference catalog is added to the project. Otherwise the Plant 3D reference catalog will not be shown in Project Manager. The file name can be different from DIN Pipes and Fittings Catalog.pcat. 4.**Files in Project Manager**

<summary>Opening/Downloading an existing Collaboration project</summary>

This is handled if the project doesn't exist in the work folder yet and everything needs to be downloaded from scratch. The files for the Bolt Calculation will be downloaded on demand. Meaning when entering PlantProjectSetup or when bolts need to be calculated or updated.

<summary>Sharing an existing project (which is already setup for Calculation) to ACC</summary>

When sharing a project with Calculation files the following files are handled: 1.BoltCalculation.xml => CHECKED IN 2.BoltCatalog.db (if in project) => CHECKED IN 3.\*.pcat (if in project) => CHECKED IN

<summary>Opening PlantProjectSetup</summary>

If you open PlantProjectSetup the following files are handled: 1.PlantToolsSetup.xml => CHECKED OUT This is the general file checked out when opening PlantProjectSetup or PlantExpressTools Settings to prevent multiple users entering PlantTools settings. 2.BoltCalculation.xml => CHECKED OUT 3.BoltCatalog.db (if in project) => CHECKED OUT 4.\*.pcat (if in project) => CHECKED OUT

If you close PlantProjectSetup the following files are handled: 1.BoltCalculation.xml => CHECKED IN 2.BoltCatalog.db (if in project) => CHECKED IN 3.\*.pcat (if in project) => CHECKED IN

<summary>Inserting bolted Pipe Run Components, updating Bolts through PlantProjectManager context menu, or through context menu of a Pipe Run Component</summary>

If you insert a Pipe Run Component (e.g., a Valve) which triggers the bolt calculation, or if you update the bolts through PlantProjectManager or from the context menu of a Pipe Run Component the following files are handled: 1.BoltCalculation.xml => DOWNLOADED 2.BoltCatalog.db (if in project) => DOWNLOADED 3.\*.pcat (if in project) => DOWNLOADED
